My son, Ryan and I picked up Brian Stertz and headed up to Platte City as our target point. The plan was to play the convection close to the low coming out of Kansas. As things fired, we followed the first three cells. The first one shot northeast over the warm front and died in the cold air. We followed the next two cells which showed potential but never really got going. Brian feared they had taken off before the wave of energy really got to them. So unfortunately, we sat in the northern end of the tornado watch box all day and never saw a severe storm.
