Struggling Storms
More Struggling Storms

We had the potential today of seeing severe storms, but it was all depending on everything coming together at the right time. We left for Springfield, Illinois as our target anticipating storms firing ahead of the cold front. We picked up our friend Kevin Kohler along the way and traveled up Interstate 55. We waited for a while in Springfield as we watched radar. We felt confident at that point something would soon fire. With a couple cells forming to the west, we shifted our target to Jacksonvile Illinois. None of the storms seemed to take off and soon we realized there would not be any severe storms before dark. We eventually began the trip back home only see a few struggling storms and only a few bolts of lightning. Overall, a day we consider a "bust".
